Getting Started

Now it's time to dive in and start planning.

But don't worry, that doesn't have to be scary. We recommend heading over to The Look and checking out some of our great images up there, shared by our users and ourselves. Planning a wedding doesn't have to be hard - we hope The Look is one thing you'll really enjoy and can have fun with.

If you're feeling up to it, why not add a few guests to your Guestlist? You can add them one by one, or import lots of them at once from a spreadsheet.

From a spreadsheet import!

We know most of you have been thinking about your guestlist for some time, and probably have an Excel sheet on the go already. We've made it easy to use that spreadsheet and upload all your guests to Moposa in no time. Just follow the simple 3-step instructions and you'll be done in no time!

Please save the spreadsheet in the old Excel format - From MS Excel, save as .xls, and NOT .xlsx

Don't worry, you don't have to undo all your work. Just head to your account page (also accessible by clicking your name at the top right and then Account) and then clicking on the "Go Premium" button and entering your code.

Absolutely not. Moposa is for you, the couple. They cannot see anything of yours unless you send them a copy (as in the case of your seating plan and guestlist).

Head over to your account page (also accessible by clicking your name at the top right and then Account) and take a look at the right side of the page. You'll see that you can invite your partner by entering their email address. This will send them an email containing a link they must use in order to create a linked account and help you out on Moposa.

Don't worry about them seeing your Dress or Stag lookbooks - you can set the privacy level of those to "Just me" and they'll be completely private.

If you are a non-premium user, you can simply visit your Events page and edit the events there.

For a premium user, once your venue has updated their record of your wedding date you will see a message on your Dashboard (the first page after login) with a link to the date verification process. This process will also help you update your Task List so that the dates align with your new wedding date.

Guests, seating planning & RSVPs

Guestlist on Moposa works in the following way:

  • There is one list of guests
  • There can be multiple events (created on the Todo -> Events page)
  • Each guest can have a different RSVP status for each event - meaning Invited to, say, the Evening part but Not Invited to the Wedding
  • By changing between events at the top of the Guestlist page you can see how each guest relates to each event
  • This way, you don't have to worry about maintaining multiple lists of guests, uploading big lists more than once, etc but can have people invited to one or more events and not invited to one or more other events, giving you the ultimate flexibility without the hassle
  • Side note: you can use the Mass Edit tool accessible from the bottom of the left sidebar in order to quickly change the statuses of multiple guests for an event - handy when you've just created a new event!

Only guests with the RSVP statuses attending or invited will be seatable on your planner page. This is to make sure that you don't end up with strange gaps where you used to have people who subsequently RSVPed that they could not come, or accidentally seat people you didn't intend to and will hopefully reduce your worrying long-term.

If you see someone in the seating planner list, they are ready for you to seat them.

Don't worry, your site is online.

Make sure that the website address is being copied into the address bar at the top of the browser (also known as the URL bar), not into a search box like the one on Google.

Make sure that there are no typos in the address given out or the one typed into the address bar, and that the website address has not been changed since the link was sent out.

The Moposa RSVP system tries to be smart - if a guest comes to RSVP, and is not matched to a guest on your list (we match by name, and offer a choice of three in case of typos), then they will be given a generic response form.

If we do recognise the guest then two things can happen - they can get a custom RSVP process based on the events they are RSVPed attending or invited to. If we do not recognise them then they will get the same generic response form as unmatched guests, though their RSVP record in your website section will reflect that we recognise them.

Unfortunately, if we cannot match a guest (as described above) then we cannot auto-update their guestlist RSVP status, and so you will have to manually do so. Sorry about that!

Guests will only see food options and/or event details once a few things are in place:

  • The guest has a status of "invited" for that event in the guestlist
  • When the guest goes to RSVP, we can match them to their record in the guestlist (which you had set up beforehand). This means that they have to spell their name similarly enough to how you have it in the guestlist that we can guess and/or provide them with a couple of options for which guest they are in your list
  • There is food setup for the event
  • They say that they are coming to this event when they RSVP
  • You have not switched off the food options switch on the RSVP page of the wedding website section

Once all these things are setup, then the guests will be able to select the event (and food options for it) that you provide.

Next to the Add Guest button on the Guestlist page is a drop-arrow. Click that to reveal a submenu where you can select a number of options. One of those is "Mass Edit Guests".

If you click on this, you can use the popup tool to delete multiple guests at once as well as change multiple RSVP statuses and quickly update email addresses, phone numbers and names.

Miscellaneous

Don't remember your password? Just click "Forgot your password?" on the login page and use the email address you signed up to Moposa with.

Make sure to double check which email address you signed up with!

Don't worry, all your information is safe. Instead of logging in with an email address like everyone else, login using the username and password you used to use.

Your budget figure is dependant on the amount budgeted for each individual item on your list, so to change it, you simply need to change the amount budgeted for say, your shoes, and you will see that affect the overall figure at the top.

Alternatively, if your budget figure is completely wrong then you can click the question mark next to it and then "Reset" in the popup box that appears. Then you can enter a new budget figure and go from there.
